If you have a family member who lived or worked in the Laurel area prior to 1920, the 150th Anniversary Committee wants you!
We are collecting names of early Laurel residents and their direct descendants, including, but not limited to, those who still live in this area. A direct descendant is someone who can trace their lineage by “child” relationship (blood relative) back to the desired ancestor.
Descendants will be recognized at the “Celebrate Laurel Today!” event on September 26, 2020. We’d also like to collect and share your ancestor’s Laurel stories during the anniversary year. Did they farm? Work in the mills? Work for the railroad, own a business, work for the government, or work as hired help? Their names and stories are important.
